Flow yoga is a deep, meditative dance—a seamless flow of awareness that encourages present centeredness.
Flowyoga has its roots in two ancient traditions. Structurally, it is based on the teachings of the Tao Te Ching. Energetically, it follows the principles of Tantra-Kundalini yoga. The Tao teaches us that the movement of life is an eternal, ongoing process without beginning, without end-- a journey, rather than a destination. Each moment unfolds and evolves into the next. In Flowyoga, we align ourselves with that process. Each movement echoes the one before and merges into the next in a system of posture, counterposture and release.
The Tao teaches us to flow with the current without striving, without labelling, without judgement. It teaches us to align and harmonize with the way things are. In Flowyoga, we do not practice "doing" the flow, we "become" the flow. Tantra is a set of practices that encourage us to reach beyond our current limitations of mind. Among its practices is a system that transforms physical energy into meditative energy. It does this through awakening of the kundalini and the movement of that energy through the chakras.
The chakras are spinning vortexes of energy along the spine, each of which represents a different aspect of our physical, mental and spiritual consciousness. The lower chakras have more to do with our actions in the world. The higher chakras have more to do with spirit, meditation, wisdom and enlightenment.
In Flowyoga practice, we do not not discourse about the chakras, we learn to experience them. We inhabit the solidity and stability of the root chakra, the movement, flow and sensuality of the lower belly, the spaciousness of the heart, the pure awareness of the third eye chakra, and the vastness of the crown that includes ALL THERE IS

The ten thousand things rise and fall while the Self watches their return.
They grow and flourish and then return to the source.
Returning to the source is stillness which is the way of nature.
